Our Activities

From first strokes to national competition, here is how the federation supports Para Rowing in Uganda.

01 — Training

Athlete Development

Structured training and development opportunities that help athletes build skill, fitness and race readiness.

We work with athletes at different stages of their rowing journey, from newcomers building fundamentals to competitive rowers preparing for regattas.

02 — Outreach

Grassroots & Community Para Rowing

Introducing Para Rowing to new communities and participants across Uganda.

Grassroots outreach opens the door to rowing for people who may never have considered the sport, laying the foundation for a wider Para Rowing movement.

03 — Capacity Building

Coaching & Technical Development

Coach education, technical development and knowledge sharing across the federation.

Strong coaching is central to athlete progress and safety on the water. We support the growth of coaches and officials so the sport can develop sustainably.

04 — Competition

Competitions & Regattas

Participation in national and international Para Rowing competition.

Competitive opportunities give athletes a reason to train and a stage to test their progress, from local regattas to international competition.

05 — Pathways

Talent Identification

Identifying and supporting athletes with potential to progress in the sport.

We look across Uganda for athletes who show promise, connecting them with the training and support structures to develop further.

06 — Youth

Youth Development

Creating pathways for young athletes to enter and grow within the sport, where applicable.

Early exposure to Para Rowing helps build a long-term pipeline of athletes, coaches and officials for the future of the sport in Uganda.

07 — Inclusion

Awareness & Inclusion

Using sport to promote inclusion and greater participation of persons with disabilities.

Beyond competition, Para Rowing is a platform to shift perceptions — showing ability, opportunity and excellence at the centre of the story.
